Product Description
In one of our “your trash, my treasure” meetings, a lady put something on the table. Under closer scrutiny, it turned out to be a cover bag made by joining two tea towels — for making water dispenser bottles “prettier”. Go figure. This tea towel needs to be transformed.
Hmm, fabric was good but did we need more treasure? As every talented treasure hunter does, we also muted the subconscious warnings and bagged it. At home, we separated the towels and the checkered look of the cotton fabric with lace gave us many ideas. Especially when we dug out some scrap yarns from the bottom of our stash. Then, it was time to embellish these tea towels with some stitching.
This one is done with blue/brown coloured yarn. And now it is the cover of this beautiful cushion, backed with beige colored cotton fabric, piping and the zipper: all from a preloved cushion. We think this is a perfect example of reclaiming and reloving.
Ah, we also added a tiny tassel to the zipper.
And its non-identical twin is done with pink-brown variegated scrap yarn.
We named it TTT, short for a Tea Towel Transformed 😊
